How to login in ARM-based platforms

Mont-Blanc prototype

All the information needed can be found in the following wiki:

Mont-Blanc prototype

Arndale cluster

1 login node (ssh.hca.bsc.es) + 3 nodes (arndale-[1-3])

Each node is equipped with:

The nodes are interconnected via 100Mbit Ethernet network.

System software:

Status:

All three nodes arndale-[1-3] are up.
Login via ssh is allowed only on arndale-1.

Odroid cluster

1 login node (ssh.hca.bsc.es) + 24 nodes (odroid-[1-24])

Each node is equiped with:

  • Exynos5 Octa Cortex-A15 1.6Ghz quad core and Cortex-A7 quad core CPUs
  • PowerVR SGX544MP3 GPU - No OpenCL support available.
  • 2Gbyte LPDDR3 RAM PoP

System software:

Status:

All nodes are up and accessible via ssh.

Jetson cluster

1 login node (ssh.hca.bsc.es) + 8 nodes (jetson-[1-8])

Each node is equiped with:

  • Quad core Cortex A15 CPU
  • Kepler GPU with 192 CUDA cores
  • 2Gbyte LPDDR3 RAM PoP
  • 1 Gbit Ethernet LAN

System software:

Status:

All nodes are up and accessible via ssh.

Octodroid cluster

1 login node (ssh.hca.bsc.es) + 6 nodes (octodroid-[1-6])

Each node is equiped with:

  • Samsung Exynos-5422: cortex A15 and Cortex A7 big.LITTLE
  • Mali T-628 OpenCL full profile.
  • 2Gbyte LPDDR3 RAM PoP

System software:

Status:

All nodes are up and accessible via ssh.

First Login:

Login on the login node with the following command:

ssh -l <username> ssh.hca.bsc.es

From the login node you can login to a computational node:

ssh arndale-1

Only a few computational nodes allow to login in (usually the computational node number one). The purpose of these nodes is to compile and run interactive jobs.

Or submit jobs using SLURM resource management. Here an example of SLURM script:

#!/bin/sh
#SBATCH -w $NODES
#SBATCH --ntasks=$($N_CORESx$N_NODES)
#SBATCH --cpus-per-task=1
#SBATCH -p $PARTITION
#SBATCH --job-name="template"
#SBATCH --error=err/template-%j.err
#SBATCH --output=out/template-%j.out

JOBDIR=$HOME/path/to/binaries

cd $JOBDIR
mpirun ./$PROG

You can get information about available partitions using sinfo command.

Security policy:

  • It is strongly suggested to change your password here.
